About Mobiddiction

Enduring digital programs for Government and Enterprise since 2012

Mobiddiction is a 100% Australian-owned technology firm. Since 2012 we have delivered and managed enduring digital programs for Government and Enterprise. Today we assemble each one on M4, our multi-tenant platform: a managed core every program shares, extended where yours needs it to work differently, with custom modules for what is yours alone. M4 is developed and operated under Mobiddiction’s Information Security Management System, certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 by an independent, accredited auditor.

Who We Are

A team crafting technology with purpose

Founded in Sydney in 2012, Mobiddiction has grown from mobile-first solutions into large-scale digital programs, mapping and wayfinding, and virtual reality programs such as PatientVR.

Behind every product is our team of designers, engineers and innovators. Our work includes PatientVR for healthcare, statewide programs such as FishSmart and SharkSmart for the NSW Government, and drone-captured maps of memorial parks across NSW and Queensland.

Our spirit is Work, Life & Play: technology that works harder for people, fits into everyday life and leaves room to try new things.

M4 in four layers. Your program of apps, sites and portals sits on top. Below it, modules crafted for you plug in; the core is extended with your own fields and rules; and the managed core of identity and access, app users, notifications, locations, media, content and analytics is run once for everyone.
Our Platform

M4 is the engine behind our programs

M4 (formerly Mobiconnect) is our multi-tenant platform. Every program starts from a managed core we run once for everyone: identity and access, app users, notifications and push, locations and field assets, media, content and analytics. Where a core feature needs to work differently for you, we extend it without changing it for anyone else. Where you need something that exists nowhere else, we craft it as its own module and plug it into the core. Mapiddiction, PatientVR, SharkSmart and Mobiddiction’s own website and support portal run on M4 today.

How We Deliver

How we assemble and run your program

Strategy, design, delivery and long-term management are how we assemble and run your program on M4. For more than a decade we have helped organisations adopt new technology with security, reliability and measurable results.

  • Strategy and design

Service design and user-centred design, rapid prototyping and proofs of concept, accessible UX designed to WCAG standards, and roadmaps tied to your business outcomes.

  • Mapping and wayfinding

Private venue maps, large-scale live events, parks, display villages and enterprise facilities, integrated with the GIS platforms your organisation already uses.

  • Immersive technology

Virtual reality, augmented reality and interactive experiences, including PatientVR.

  • Custom programs on M4

Programs for mobile workforces and field operations, crafted as custom modules on the M4 core and hosted on AWS in Sydney.

  • Consulting and development

We consult, deliver, scale and manage long-term programs: secure cloud infrastructure, geospatial, API and enterprise system integrations, and rigorous QA, CI/CD and DevOps practice.

  • Security, privacy and compliance

An ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certified ISMS and Advanced Supplier status under the NSW ICT Services Scheme. Privacy by design under the Australian Privacy Act and the Australian Privacy Principles. No offshore development: work is managed and delivered in house.

Architecture comes first. Start with what you want to achieve: goals, constraints, risks and opportunities. Then set the architecture: cloud architecture, integration pathways, data flows, identity and access, and existing systems. Then design and code, with less rework, faster delivery and lower risk.
Strategy

Architecture sets the direction

Every engagement starts with what you are trying to achieve and the constraints, risks and opportunities around it. With your internal teams we define cloud architecture, integration pathways, data flows, identity and access controls, and the existing systems and data sources that matter to the program. That foundation comes before any design or code, which limits rework, speeds delivery and reduces long-term operational risk.

One design system, covering type, colour and accessibility, carried into the public site, mobile app, internal platform and field system, and engineered together with the cloud services behind them, so they work as one coherent solution.
Design

Integrated across web, mobile and cloud

Our design capability sits inside our consulting and engineering capability, so user experience, accessibility and interface design move in step with the technical decisions guiding the program. Public-facing tools, mobile apps, internal platforms and field systems come together as one coherent solution rather than a set of disconnected parts.

Operations over the life of a program: support and service levels shaped to its seasonal demand through the year; monitoring, backups, patching and releases run continuously; and the same program supported from year one to year ten and beyond.
Operations

Predictable outcomes, year after year

Many of the programs we support have run for more than a decade, because we treat every project as an ongoing relationship. Our operations model covers multi-level support and service desk, SLAs tailored to seasonal or event-based demand, cloud hosting and environment management, monitoring, alerting, backup and recovery, maintenance and patching, vulnerability management, and structured release and CI/CD practice.

A continuous assurance loop around privacy by design: assess, with formal risk registers; secure, with identity and segregation; evidence, through auditability and visibility; and hand back control, with self-service deletion and export; then assess again.
Assurance

Supported by security and compliance

Our Information Security Management System, certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, brings disciplined risk management, secure-by-design thinking, structured release controls and strong documentation to every program. As privacy, cyber security and regulatory requirements change, we update architecture, policies, testing and controls so your systems keep meeting them.

Why Mobiddiction

Consulting strength, delivery capability, long-term support

We know what it takes to run programs that evolve for many years and stay secure, reliable and adaptable the whole time. Our senior leaders each bring more than a decade of experience across Government and Enterprise programs, including regulated sectors such as health, finance and critical infrastructure, and we offer documented references for platforms we have supported continuously for ten years or more.

Innovation and R&D

Applied research, grounded in real delivery

Our innovation and R&D work solves complex problems for Government and Enterprise through disciplined experimentation, applied research and practical engineering. Innovation is always tied to your goals, not technology for its own sake.

  • AI in delivery and defence

We apply AI to extract insight from geospatial layers, validate complex map structures and improve visualisation.

  • AI and spatial intelligence

Public events, temporary venues and changing precincts create navigation problems that traditional routing can’t model in real time. We apply AI and geospatial techniques to pedestrian navigation that adapts to temporary structures and changing conditions.

  • High-accuracy data capture

Programmed drone missions capture current aerial imagery, processed with photogrammetry into 3D models, elevation maps and georeferenced datasets. Anonymised app location data produces crowd density heat maps and movement flows for events and public spaces.

  • Hybrid location solutions

We work with several indoor positioning technologies (Bluetooth beacons, wifi triangulation, QR-based entry points and camera-based positioning) and choose the right one for each environment, combining sources where accuracy demands it.

  • Privacy-preserving design

Many Government and Enterprise projects must minimise or avoid collecting personal information. We design platforms that work without centralised user tracking, and several of our programs operate without storing personal or sensitive data.

  • Health, behaviour change and learning

Our VR research explores distraction and pain management, behaviour change support in substance use settings, and patient education, so immersive technology is used responsibly in regulated environments such as healthcare.

Our Story

From a Sydney start-up to enduring programs

Programs we started more than a decade ago are still running today.

  1. Mobiddiction is founded in Sydney

Mike Vasavada founds Mobiddiction with a focus on practical digital transformation and long-term technology partnerships.

  2. Our first government program

Wild About Whales begins for the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, combining mobile, citizen science, mapping and wildlife data. It runs until 2021.

  3. SharkSmart and our own platform

Work begins on the NSW SharkSmart program, one of the longest-running public safety and geospatial platforms in NSW, which continues today. We launch Mobiconnect, the platform that has since become M4.

  4. FishSmart begins

The NSW Government FishSmart program commences, delivering real-time mapping, geospatial rules and mobile platforms for recreational fishers. It is still active.

  5. Long-running geospatial programs

NSW Survey Marks launches for NSW Spatial Services, and our mapping, RTK GNSS and field mobility work with the Forestry Corporation of NSW begins. Both continue today.

  6. Drones and data capture

We first use drones and mission planning software to capture aerial imagery for mapping projects, and launch the Drought and Supplementary Feed Calculator for farmers and land managers.

  7. Consulting and memorial park mapping

We expand into ICT consulting, and send drone and 360-degree photography teams to 14 memorial parks across NSW and Queensland to create a standardised mapping platform.

  8. PatientVR and Advanced Supplier status

PatientVR launches with NSW Health in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District and in Queensland at Logan palliative care. We gain Advanced Supplier status under the NSW Government ICT Services Scheme, and launch Mapiddiction.

  9. ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification

Our Information Security Management System is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022. RocketCrew VR launches with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, and VapingVR enters evaluation at Nepean Hospital.

  10. Mobiconnect becomes M4

M4, our multi-tenant platform, is the managed core that PatientVR, Mapiddiction and SharkSmart run on today.
