The M4 Platform
One managed core, configured for every program
M4 (formerly Mobiconnect) is Mobiddiction’s multi-tenant platform. We assemble every program from the same managed core, extend it where yours needs to work differently, and craft custom modules for what is yours alone.

Every program is assembled from the same blocks
We configure the core for your program, extend it where yours needs to work differently and craft custom modules for what is yours alone. We run the core once, for everyone; your extensions and modules belong to your program. Pick a program to see what it is made of.

Mapiddiction, Venue maps and wayfinding: 7 core features configured, 1 extended, 1 module crafted.Explore Mapiddiction
- Core · configured
- Shared features every program uses as they are. We run them, secure them and keep them current for everyone.
- Extended capability · extended
- A core feature we extend for your program, with your own fields, rules and behaviour, without changing it for anyone else.
- Custom modules · crafted
- Modules we craft only for your program and plug into the core, so they use features like sign-in, media, notifications and data.
Each program on its own
The same foundations made, hosted and maintained three times.
On M4
One core, configured for each program and run once.
Start from foundations that are already running
Most digital programs need the same foundations (sign-in, roles, content, media, notifications and reporting), and most make, test and maintain their own for years. On M4 they are already running in one core that we host, manage and keep current. Your program gets there sooner, with less new code to go wrong, and your budget goes on what is specific to your organisation.

We look after the platform, so you don’t have to
M4 runs on Amazon Web Services in Sydney, and we are an AWS Partner. Our engineers manage it, from hosting and monitoring to maintenance and releases. Each program gets its own domain, sender address and branding. Start with what your program needs today and switch on more as it grows, on the same core.
Configured for your program, managed once for all
Features every program uses as they are. Updated once, inherited everywhere, and switched on only where your program needs them.
- Notifications
Reach people in the app, by email and by push notification.
- Identity and access
Secure sign-in for your staff and administrators, with multi-factor authentication and single sign-on.
- Roles and permissions
Control who can see and change what, across the whole platform or one workspace at a time.
- Media
Upload, process and deliver images, video and documents.
- Analytics
Understand how your program is used.
- AI assistant
An AI assistant that answers questions from your program’s own content.
- Locations and field assets
Track places, and the assets installed at them, across their working life.
- Dynamic content
Model and publish structured content for your apps and websites.
- Integrations
Connect M4 to the other systems your program depends on.
Extended for your program, crafted where nothing else fits
Where a core feature has to work differently for you, we extend it, without changing it for any other program. Where you need something that exists nowhere else, we craft a module and plug it into the core, so it signs in your people, stores your media and sends your notifications the way the rest of M4 does.

AI that knows your program
An AI assistant we configure for a program answers questions from that program’s own content, and our maps use AI to route people through places that change. Behind both, our team uses AI to deliver and run programs, and people review everything it produces.
Question: When is the safest time to swim?
Answer: Swim at a patrolled beach, between the red and yellow flags. Avoid swimming at dawn and dusk, in murky water and near river mouths after heavy rain, and check the SharkSmart app for alerts at your beach before you go in.

- AI assistant
An assistant that answers questions from your program’s own knowledge base, matching each question to the right answer by intent. It is managed alongside the rest of your content, and we configure it for each program, such as SharkSmart’s.

How our team uses AI to deliver and run programs
AI speeds up the routine parts of our work. Our engineers, consultants and support staff make the calls.
Engineering
Intelligent automation for code reviews, regression checks and documentation.
Integration
AI-assisted analysis of existing interfaces and integration patterns before anything changes. Architects review every finding.
Spatial data
AI to extract insight from geospatial layers, validate map structures and support visualisation.
Operations
AI-supported analysis to triage incidents, monitor usage patterns and assess system performance.
Cyber defence
AI-assisted log analysis, anomaly identification and event correlation.
Support content
AI drafts support material and knowledge base articles, which experienced staff then review.
Programs running on M4 today
Each one starts from the same managed core. What differs is what we extended and what we crafted for it.

VR content and headset management for patient therapy
PatientVR is our virtual reality platform for patient pain management, positive distraction and wellbeing. It uses M4’s sign-in, roles, media and analytics as they are, extends media with streaming for large VR video, and adds a custom module that pairs headsets and manages each headset’s content and licences.

- 4 core features

Maps, markers, shapes, AI routing and wayfinding
Mapiddiction is our private mapping product for venues, campuses and events. It uses M4’s workspaces, media and roles as they are, extends data feeds to map external records as markers, and adds custom modules for maps, shapes, AI-powered wayfinding and publishing to websites, apps and screens.

Beach-safety alerts for DPIRD
SharkSmart has been the beach-safety program of the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) since 2014. Core sign-in, roles and content sit underneath. Alerts, push and scheduled data from the Bureau of Meteorology, Beachwatch and timeanddate are extended for it, and custom modules run the operator dashboard, drumline and drone operations, and shark tagging. It was originally delivered on Mobiconnect and has since been modernised onto M4.

Our own sites run on M4
Mobiddiction’s own website and support portal (support.mobiddiction.com) run on M4, along with the PatientVR and Mapiddiction websites, the SharkSmart web app, and client sites such as Community Shark Bite Kits, Care Networks and Guru Nanak Darbar.

Separate infrastructure where compliance needs it, same platform
The DPIRD program runs on separately provisioned infrastructure (its own network, load balancer, database cluster, storage and release branch) for compliance. It runs the same M4 codebase, released on its own schedule. That is the M4 model: one managed platform, deployed to suit the client.
