FAQs

Common questions

What can you create with M4?

Web and mobile apps for Government and Enterprise: customer and staff portals, field and operations tools, maps and wayfinding, and public-facing apps. Every program starts from the same managed core of sign-in and security, people and permissions, workspaces, content, media and notifications. Where a core feature needs to work differently for you, we extend it without changing it for anyone else. Where you need something that exists nowhere else, we craft it as its own module and plug it into the core.

What is the difference between core, extended and custom?

Core features are shared: we run them, secure them and keep them current for every program, so you use them as they are. Extended capability is a core feature we extend for your program, with your own fields, rules and behaviour, without changing it for anyone else. Custom modules are crafted only for your program and plugged into the core, so they use its sign-in, media, notifications and data. We switch on only what your program needs, and nothing you don’t use is exposed.

What do I pay for?

Each program is scoped and agreed with you, with no public price list. We run the managed core once for everyone, so your budget goes on what is specific to your program: the extensions, the custom modules and the ongoing management.

Who assembles and runs a program on M4?

We do. M4 is an API, an admin console and a set of managed core capabilities, not a self-service builder. Our team designs, configures and assembles your program on it and manages it over the long term. Your staff manage content, users and notifications in the admin console, and if you have developers of your own, M4’s API and workspace API keys let them integrate it with your existing systems.

Can one organisation run several apps on M4?

Yes. M4 is multi-tenant, so an organisation can run several programs, each in its own workspace with its own members, roles and branding.

Is my data secure, and where is it hosted?

M4 is developed and operated under Mobiddiction’s Information Security Management System, certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 by an independent, accredited auditor. The platform is hosted on AWS in Sydney, Australia. Each program’s data is kept separate by program and workspace rules in the platform, and where compliance requires it a program can run on its own separately provisioned infrastructure.

Does M4 have an API?

Yes. M4 is a REST API with per-workspace API keys that are hashed at rest and scoped by permission. API documentation is available to clients.

How do I get technical support?

Through our support centre at support.mobiddiction.com, where you can read help articles and raise a support ticket. Programs we manage also have support arrangements and SLAs agreed with you.

I’m an agency. Can we work with you?

Yes. We work with agencies and service providers who want to offer custom mapping, immersive technology or programs assembled on M4 to their clients, with our team delivering and managing the platform. Contact us to talk about partnering.

Do you make custom web and mobile apps?

Yes. We create custom web and mobile apps for Government and Enterprise, either as extensions of M4’s core features or as custom modules plugged into it. We have delivered mobile apps since 2012. Contact us for a one-on-one with our experts.

How do I delete my app account and its data?

In apps we run on M4, you can delete your account from the account or privacy settings. If you can’t log in, email contactus@mobiddiction.com.au with the subject line “Data Deletion Request”. Our data deletion page explains the steps and what we delete and keep.
