Maps and engagement for events and large venues

Stadiums, shows, event organisers and precinct operators need technology that copes with crowds and changing layouts. We deliver maps, wayfinding and engagement for them on M4, our multi-tenant platform, with Mapiddiction as the mapping module. We have done this for more than a decade.

On M4

What M4 brings to event and venue programs

Event programs have to change fast and cope with crowds. M4 supplies the managed core behind the map and the content. We extend it for your event, and craft what is unique to your venue.

Core · configured

Shared features every program uses as they are. We run them, secure them and keep them current for everyone.

Extended capability · extended

A core feature we extend for your program, with your own fields, rules and behaviour, without changing it for anyone else.

  • Data feeds

Bring external data into your program on a schedule, mapped to the way your program uses it.

Custom modules · crafted

Modules we craft only for your program and plug into the core, so they use features like sign-in, media, notifications and data.

Maps and Wayfinding

Maps that keep working when the layout changes

Large venues change shape. Temporary structures, fencing and event overlays alter the usual pedestrian routes, so Mapiddiction, our mapping product on M4, gives venues interactive maps (with filters, search, location services and live data) that keep working when the ground plan moves.

Our AI-supported pedestrian wayfinding helps visitors move through unfamiliar and changing environments. It has been used at the Sydney Royal Easter Show for more than eight years, and at the Melbourne Royal Show in 2024 and 2025.

Stadiums and Venues

Engagement for stadium crowds and sponsors

For ANZ Stadium, Metricon Stadium and Marvel Stadium (formerly Etihad Stadium) we have delivered mobile experiences, event calendar integrations, marketing activations and on-site WiFi portals that help venues and sponsors engage crowds on match day, with our team on site to support them.

Event Activations

Turning spectators into participants

For HomeWorld, a sponsor of the Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash League, in 2020 we turned spectators into participants with on-site augmented reality: face-detection filters shown live on the big screen through IPTV integration, with our team on site to support and moderate across multiple home games.

Venue Operators

Accurate spatial data for the people who run the venue

With operators such as InvoCare we deliver drone-based aerial mapping, 360-degree photography and digital navigation tools that serve both operational teams and visitors, so large venues keep their spatial data accurate and current.

Scale and Operational Reality

Event environments are unforgiving

Traffic surges, connectivity drops, layouts shift and delivery windows are tight. Our event and precinct platforms are engineered for all of it.

  • Scale for peak periods

Designed to absorb sudden surges in traffic when a venue fills up.

  • Work with patchy connectivity

Designed for mobile environments where connectivity is inconsistent.

  • Rapid updates mid-event

Content and maps can be updated quickly while a large event is running.

  • Fit the venue’s systems

Integration with the systems a venue already runs, such as ticketing, event and vendor management, point of sale and WiFi portals.

  • Security and privacy

Designed around the security and privacy expectations of large public audiences.

  • Immovable deadlines

Events don’t move, so every program is delivered with structured testing, contingency planning and on-the-ground operational support.

Innovation and Long-term Support

Partnerships that run for years

M4 provides the managed core and the hosting. Our team of engineers, spatial specialists, AI practitioners and project managers works closely with venue stakeholders, event teams and third-party platforms to extend it and craft the rest. We support immediate event delivery and ongoing precinct change through continuous improvement of maps and visitor experiences, and support plans suited to seasonal and event-based operations.

Many of our event and precinct partnerships have run for years, because we stay close to operational needs and keep improving the technology as venues evolve.
