Advisory and Transformation
Advice grounded in what we can deliver and run
We help Government and Enterprise teams scope a digital program before it is assembled, and plan the path when organisations join together. We start with your systems, risks and goals, then show you what M4 already covers, what we would extend and what we would craft for you. That includes a technical review framework for mergers and acquisitions.
Advisory and Delivery
Advice that stays accountable to delivery
Transformation work starts with analysis: business analysis, technology planning and integration research, including merger and acquisition reviews. We use it to scope your program, then show you what M4 already covers, what we would extend and what we would craft for you.
A senior leadership group with more than a decade of experience running large Government and Enterprise programs leads the work. Acting as both advisor and delivery team keeps the advice grounded in what can be delivered, and the delivery accountable to the plan.
What M4 brings once the plan is agreed
M4 does not replace your ERP, CRM or HR systems. It is the platform for the digital programs around them.
Core · configured
Shared features every program uses as they are. We run them, secure them and keep them current for everyone.
Extended capability · extended
A core feature we extend for your program, with your own fields, rules and behaviour, without changing it for anyone else.
- Alerts
Publish alerts to the people who need them, carrying the detail your program depends on.
Where advice has led to delivery
One mapping platform across 14 cemeteries and memorial parks
In 2023, InvoCare needed a unified digital approach across cemeteries and memorial parks that had historically operated as separate business units. Mobiddiction delivered a consistent, accurate mapping platform for its 14 cemeteries and memorial parks in NSW and Queensland using drone capture, aerial photography and spatial processing. The result was a single digital foundation that improved customer experience and streamlined staff operations.
Guiding several thousand staff through a hybrid workplace shift
When the Australian arm of a global consulting firm moved to a new hybrid workplace model, it needed a digital support program to guide several thousand staff through a major operational change. Mobiddiction delivered a secure internal mobile app, integrated with enterprise single sign-on and deployed through corporate mobile device management. It gave structured guidance before, during and after the transition (education, new office layouts, room and desk bookings, team-based working zones, FAQs and real-time communications) and supported wellbeing and resilience initiatives during a period of significant change.
High-trust mobile for a major superannuation fund
A major superannuation provider engaged Mobiddiction to design and deliver a mobile experience that met strict expectations for performance, personalisation and security. Many members were digital natives, so the experience needed the responsiveness and polish of the consumer apps they use every day. We designed a dual-mode architecture: a frictionless public Lobby Mode, and a secure, identity-verified Vault Mode for sensitive financial data, with contextual navigation throughout. After launch we helped the client move maintenance and feature development to their internal engineering team, while keeping architectural oversight where required.
Real-time agricultural marketplace
The real-time auction engine, mobile experience, operational tools and cloud environment behind Farmgate Auctions: live bidding, secure transactions and fraud mitigation for rural producers and buyers. The program continues under a managed services model covering monitoring, optimisation, testing and iterative improvement.
Why a Technology Review
From two separate structures to one efficient, secure organisation
We work with organisations that are joining together and need a clear view of their combined systems, data, tools and operating practices. Our team maps what each company runs today, highlights risks and duplication, and shapes a path to a unified environment that supports the goals of the merger.
Because we work across Government and Enterprise programs every day, we understand the pressures, the regulatory expectations and the need for decisions that balance stability with progress. We bring practical experience from running those programs.
Five phases of a technical review
- Phase 1
Framing and scope
Decide what good looks like before you start pulling systems apart. We set the deal context (value drivers, expected synergies, non-negotiables), agree scope across regions, business units, systems, data domains and vendors, and define guard rails: the things you will not change in the short term, such as regulated systems and critical customer-facing platforms. Two decisions anchor everything that follows: the integration model you are aiming for (absorb into the buyer, best of both, or federated with shared services), and the time horizon for fast wins versus longer-term architecture clean-up.
- Phase 2
Rapid diagnostic
Build a baseline view of the combined environment quickly, without going too deep. We take a high-level inventory of applications, data stores, integrations, cloud accounts, on-premises sites and major vendors; snapshot security posture, privacy obligations and compliance context; and identify the obvious duplications: CRM and CRM, HR system and HR system, identity providers and single sign-on, analytics, monitoring and cloud providers. The output is a heatmap of risk hotspots and consolidation candidates, plus a list of systems that must be stabilised or protected before any change.
- Phase 3
Deep dive by workstream
For the priority areas the diagnostic identifies, we run in-depth technical, process and data assessments for each workstream, map dependencies across systems and teams, and find economies of scale, licence savings and process standardisation opportunities. You get current-state architecture and process maps for key domains, plus an options paper for each overlap: retain A, retain B, hybrid, greenfield or decommission.
- Phase 4
Consolidation and standardisation design
Turn analysis into a coherent future state and an integration plan. We define the target architecture and operating model, design consolidation waves (quick wins and high-value, low-risk moves first, then medium-complexity migrations, then high-complexity or long-tail systems), and build a financial model for each major decision covering licence reduction, infrastructure consolidation and support model changes. You get future-state blueprints, a prioritised plan with indicative timelines, costs and benefits, and an agreed set of standards and patterns.
- Phase 5
Execution and optimisation
Govern and deliver the plan, and keep iterating. That covers integration program management, change control and risk management, technical delivery of migrations, decommissions and refactors, and tracking of synergies and process improvements. Regular benefits reporting captures licence reduction, infrastructure cost, incident reduction and cycle-time improvements, while standards, runbooks and architectural principles are updated as the merged organisation matures.
What we look at
We run consistent workstreams across each organisation, so you can compare like with like. Each one produces the current state, issues, options, recommendations and a migration path.
Governance and process landscape
How IT and digital are governed, plus core operational processes: change, incident, problem, release, vendor management, project intake and approvals. We define a single way of working, collapse duplicated governance forums, and standardise templates, runbooks and reporting so teams can be blended gradually.
Databases and data platforms
Relational databases, data warehouses, data lakes, reporting stores and streaming platforms: which engines and versions run where, which hold customer or regulated data, and how backup, restore, high availability and disaster recovery work. We rationalise engines to a small supported set and identify shared data models for core domains.
Security management
Identity and access, network security, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, logging and monitoring, and security governance. We move towards a single identity strategy, consolidate overlapping tools where realistic, and standardise security baselines for cloud accounts, networks and endpoints.
Privacy and data management
Privacy obligations, consents, retention policies, data classification and handling standards. We define one privacy and data-handling standard that meets the strictest applicable obligations, harmonise retention and deletion rules, and align cookie, tracking and consent mechanisms across customer-facing systems.
Customer data and experience stack
CRM, marketing automation, customer data platforms, portals, support tools, call centre systems and analytics. We decide on a single system of record for customers (or a clear master data approach), rationalise overlapping tools, and define the target customer data flow for sales, service and analytics.
Tech stack and tools
Programming languages, frameworks, developer tools, CI/CD pipelines, source control, testing and observability. We standardise on a small set of core languages and frameworks for new development, move towards one source control platform and standard pipeline patterns, and consolidate observability tools.
Systems, infrastructure and services
Cloud providers, on-premises data centres, network topology, workplace devices and collaboration tools. We set the target cloud and hosting strategy, including preferred regions and landing-zone patterns, plan migration and decommissioning waves for legacy environments, and rationalise collaboration tools.
Vendor and SaaS portfolio
Major technology vendors, SaaS subscriptions, support contracts and managed services: where capabilities duplicate, what the terms, renewals and exit conditions are, and which vendors matter strategically. We use combined purchasing power to negotiate better terms, retire redundant subscriptions and standardise vendor governance.
Decision and Prioritisation Framework
Score every consolidation decision the same way
Each candidate decision gets a simple, consistent score across six dimensions: strategic fit with the deal thesis and future operating model; cost impact, one-off and ongoing; risk across security, privacy, compliance and operations; technical complexity and data migration effort; time to value; and the experience impact on customers and staff.
For each overlapping system, platform or process, we evaluate the main options through that lens: keep company A’s solution and retire B’s, keep B’s and retire A’s, run both for a defined period with a clear exit plan, or replace both with a new shared solution. The results feed the integration plan, so the program is aimed at consolidation, standardisation and economies of scale, not just wiring systems together.
